  • 2 (32 ounce) containers tart cherry juice
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans dark cherries in heavy syrup, drained
  • 1 12 cups granulated sugar
  • 12 - 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 cups Everclear alcohol

  • In a large pot, bring the cherry juice, cherries and sugar to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer low for 30 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
  • Add almond extract and everclear. Carefully pour into mason jars, leaving room to add the cherries. Divide the cherries evenly between the jars before placing on the lids. Serve immediately or refrigerate.
