  • 1 lb uncooked bratwurst, casings removed
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup, undiluted
  • 1 (32 ounce) package frozen tater tots
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

directions

  • Crumble bratwurst into large skillet; add onion.
  • Cook over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain.
  • Stir in the soup.
  • Transfer to a greased 13 in x 9 in baking dish.
  • Top with tater tots and sour cream.
  • Sprinkle with cheese.
  • Bake, uncovered at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.

  2. Wow! Really delicious! Super Easy! Husband-approved-keeper! I don't like Cream of Mushroom soup, so I used Cream of Celery, if it changed it...well, it really doesn't matter, because it was great.
     
  3. This turned out really well. The tater tots fell apart making it kind of like a "hash brown" casserole. I thought that it was extremely easy to put together, too. In fact, my daughter sarahbug actually did most of the cooking but she will probably forget to review it. I served this with corn. We also had the leftovers as a side dish the next day instead of plain potatoes.
     
  4. I appreciate the tip about the bratwurst patties, makes it a lot easier. DH thought the sour cream was a bit overpowering, so next time I would use maybe half of the sour cream and add more of a "cream of" soup.
