- 1 1⁄2 lbs lean ground beef
- 1 cup soft breadcrumbs
- 1⁄3 cup catsup
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1⁄2 cup onion
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄8 teaspoon pepper
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- additional ketchup, for topping (optional)
directions
- Combine meat, bread crumbs, egg, onion, catsup, salt and pepper.
- Pour into an 8-inch square baking dish.
- Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
- Drain excess fat.
- Pour 3 cups of hot mashed potatoes on top.
- Drizzle with catsup, if desired.
- Bake for another 20 minutes.
