Barbecued Pork Kebabs

"This sweet style bbq sauce is typical of the Philippines , I adapted from another recipe site. I doubled most of the sauce ingredients ( I decreased the sugar before doubling) You might want to set some aside to cook separately if you want some to serve with the kebabs. Time doesn't include marinating."

directions

  • Whisk the sugar, soy sauce, onion, garlic and black pepper together in a large bowl. Add the pork and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours. Overnight is best if possible.
  • Soak 10 -20 wooden skewers for 30 minutes, I prefer to double skewer to prevent rolling
  • Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat, and lightly oil the grate.
  • Thread the pork onto the soaked skewers. Cook on the preheated grill until the pork is no longer pink in the center, 3 to 5 minutes per side.
  • Keep a close eye, if they start to char too quickly finish over indirect heat.
