Banquet Burgers

"From the Canadian Living Test Kitchen. Real Cheddar cheese and crispy bacon (add extra if you like) make this traditionally Canadian diner-style burger taste even better at home. Serve in hamburger buns. Canadian Living Magazine, July 2005."

  1. We didn't dislike these burgers, but also found nothing extraordinary about them either. Hence, three stars. They tasted like an ordinary hamburger with cheese and bacon on top.

  2. Not only Banquet burgers - a real Canadian burger for sure! Great mix making for excellent burgers. Made up exactly as posted - put some of the burgers in sauce and to mine I added a big slice of onion! Going to make a big batch for the freezer ready for the grill. Thank you Evelyn, now I have what I basically make ... on paper to share with my family!

  3. Seriously yummy burgers that we both really enjoyed. I used reduced fat back bacon and shredded some reduced fat cheddar over it so I could pretend I wasn't being naughty. I know these will be added into our rotation of burger recipes. Made for the Family Picks portion of ZWT4.

  4. Delicious and easy burger, will make it again

  5. These burgers are delicious. I omitted the onion. I added slices of tomato in my burgers (after the photo LOL). The taste of the burger itself is yummy, and with the addition of cheese and bacon, wonderful. Thanks Evelyn. Made for the Babes of ZWT4

I moved out here many, many years ago from Ottawa, Canada - so I am blessed in having two wonderful heritages! I suffer from compulsive obsessive behaviour with regard to food and my psychiatrist thought it would be a good idea to find a 'society' where many have the same problem and try to find a cure. So far, I've copied a couple of thousand recipes from this site and my psychiatrist has thrown the towel in and refuses to answer the phone when I call. What did I do wrong? Got 3 kids that keep me on the go - 10 and under at this point (2008) - I may not get round to updating this for a few years, so you'll have to do your own maths. I teach English full-time and Greek Cookery part-time. I would like to make the cooking part of it full-time and the English Grammar part of it part-time. That's all for now.
