Fluffy Baked Brown Rice

"I'm notorious for ruining rice, so I usually stay away from it -- until I found this recipe. It's Alton Brown's recipe for perfect brown rice, and it's great! I've made it many times and it really does turn out perfectly every time. You can use either medium or short grained rice."

  1. Great recipe. High altitude (6000+feet) adjustment. Take out at one hour and add 2 1/2 cups boiling water. Cover and cook for another hour.

  2. I've made this a few times now so feel I can safely say, "it's not a fluke". It really does come out great! At last, the rice I prepare is edible.

  3. This is the only way I make brown rice now. Sometimes I also add garlic powder and bay leaf to the boiling pot. This is a wonderful recipe. Thanks for posting.

  5. easy and excellent recipe. I've made oven brown rice before and found that I'd end up having to cook it for nearly two hours. This recipe is wonderful, no mistakes. This will be the staple way I cook Brown Rice from now on.

I'm a stay at home mom who loves to cook. My husband and I both enjoy cooking and love trying new recipes. Although my friends and family love everything I make, I get most of my raves reviews for my Bacon Lovers' Spaghetti Carbonara! Rich and decadent!
