1. Excellent, easy recipe. Used 8x8 pan and added a dash of nutmeg. Used a little less butter and 4 very large granny smith apples. Yum!

 2. DD16 made this. She doubled the recipe and used 9x13 pans, and it came out quite thin. It's delicious, crisp on top with just the right sweetness. We love that it has no added sugar in the apples, though of course there's some in the crust. Other than cutting up a big bowl of apples, it wasn't difficult to do, and will be done again. Made for PAC, April 2009.

 3. Easy and so tasty. What I liked most is it isn't as sweet as most crisps I've tried. I used frozen apples that I'd put down last fall, and it worked very well. Thanks kacc for a terrific addition to my dessert cookbook. Made for Spring PAC 2009

 4. Ok I first wanted to say Thank you Very much kacc or the recipe. I did read the four (4) reviews and wanted to thank Lavender for the sweetness comment as we all are aware of there are people out there that CAN'T have all of that (which I had to fudge on this) Story below. Wanted to Thank DC for the Nutmeg add paired with the Granny Smiths, Nice flavor mixture. The apple tastes are very different as I have learned more now that my youngest (Thomas) is going to Graduate Hickey Culinary art School in St. Louis, MO. And a thanks to Diana for the double up input. not every one knows that just because you want more doesn't mean it will turn out if doubled. Here's what I did with this recipe:

I used all of the ingredients that I had but when it came to the brown sugar realized that it wasn't where it needed to be and asked where it might be and the Hubby said "Opps, didn't think we were ever going to use it so I threw it away?". I could only Laugh at that face. any way mixed up granulated sugar with some Roasted pecan syrup by Berry hill and pretended that I knew what I was doing (Please don't let Thomas know). All the while in my mind I'm saying to myself "I hope this turns out!!".

But I am a fan of crock pot cooking because of my military service (21yrs) and then when the kids came the busy mom thing too. I mixed first four as directed then after coring apples I put them in a egg slicer for a nicer bite size piece. Had more apples than it call for but used all 6-8 (yes I did) cups mixed crisp with that and put it in the C-Pot and cooked on low for 4 Hours.

Wow how that smell filled the house every time Mr. "I knew I threw it away for a reason!" lifted the lid to sneak a taste (He thinks I didn't know hahaha. but while he was at the gym I texted to him that a nice Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and some Sharp Cheddar would be great to the crisp. He came home with No Ice cream and Buffalo Hot wing block (Cabot) well I'll try anything once twice if I like it.

Lol any way it was amazing and I will do again I wrote the differences that I made and will make it the way it says next time but thought I would leave the review on the modification because I did use this recipe and we all know that sometimes we have to "shoot from the hip" and use what we have.
