My husband and I made the Amish onion Patties recipe and when we started cooking in the oil the patties looked brown but were very oily. How do we keep the oil out of the patty? We used Canola oil. We also used less oil than what the recipe uses. Is there another way to cook the patties without oil?

Oh, Miss Annie!! These were wonderful! I was browsing your page and saw your cookbook of Amish and Mennonite recipes. Looked through it and saw this one - I am an onion lover! I suggested to my DH that maybe a bit of fresh ground pepper would be nice and his words were "Don't you change a thing - they're perfect!" And they are so easy to make. There you go. Next, I am going to try your Cabbage Casserole - cabbage is one of our favourite veggies. If it is nearly as good as your Onion Patties, we'll both be in Heaven. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
