Need to get some aggression out, but not a bread making person? Try these!! Also great for kids! Suggestion: Try using other flavors of chips (butterscotch, peanut butter, etc.), or even dried fruit (raisens, etc.) for a variety of different cookies!!
- Ready In:
- 3 cups brown sugar
- 3 cups margarine
- 6 cups oatmeal
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- Put the ingredients in large bowl. Mash, squeeze, knead, etc. until it is completely blended.
- Form into small balls about 1 to 1 1/2 inches in size and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Butter the bottom of a small glass (or plastic cup) and dip into white sugar, then pound the cookies flat.
- Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 to 12 minutes.
- This makes a large batch!

These cookies are absolutely SUPERB!!! They are oaty, chocolaty, crumbly and crunchy! I luv them! Ive never made oatmeal cookies with chocolate before, but I really like it. Ill surely make this recipe again as I have lots of friends who like cookies, but hate raisins. :) I made 1/6 of the recipe and reduced the sugar to 30 g (1.5 tbs), cause the chocolate offered enough sweetness for my taste. My dough was very easy to work with and not dry at all although I reduced the butter a tad. Neither were the cookies. They were just scrumptious! To let go of even more aggression I flattened the cookies by hand, thats why they stayed quite ballish. ;) I ended up with exactly 1 dozen cookies. I read the reviews before making these cookies and then did a search on the web too to try to figure out why these cookies have so many problems. Well it is just the type of cookie - there is nothing wrong per se with your recipe - just like the others - but actually it is a very dry and crumbly cookie by nature. I made a half batch and used butter and applesauce in place of the margarine. That helped the dough stay together and the cookies are not crumbly at the end but they are still pretty dry in the end and not full of any one flavor either which is strange. Sorry iewe - just did not work out for our family.Reply
