This is one of my favorite side dishes that I love to cook.
- 3 slices bacon
- 1 medium head of cabbage, cut into bite size pieces
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon pepper
- 1⁄8 cup butter
- Fry bacon in pot until done, remove bacon,add cabbage salt and pepper.
- Place lid on pot and cook on medium heat for 20 to 25 minutes or until it is to your liking.
- Add butter and stir until melted.
Hubby really enjoyed this a lot! Probably b/c of the bacon--LOL! Yummy for sure! I did add some water to this. I did not add the butter. Made for Let's P-A-R-T-Y! Thank you saracrocker.
This is really good!! I made as written, but cooked a little longer so it would brown a little more. I am the only one in the family that eats cabbage so I get it all to myself! Made for I Recommend Tag.
I love cabbage and I loved this recipe. I did use a bit more bacon and I left it in the pan. I only used 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of pepper and 1/4 cup of butter. Thought this was really good.
