World's Best Chocolate Cake

This chocolate cake is famous in my husband's family. It is moist and delicious, and is a favorite at birthdays.

  1. Mix together sugar and flour and set aside.
  2. Bring cocoa, butter, water, and oil to a rapid boil.
  3. Remove from heat and immediately sift in sugar mixture.
  4. Beat eggs and slowly stir into hot mixture.
  5. Add buttermilk, baking soda and vanilla.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes in a greased 9 X 13 pan.
  7. Use your favorite frosting to coat, or sprinkle on powder sugar for a garnish.

This a good moist cake!! This is the first cake I made that did not include a boxed mix and it was really easy. Made as directed and it turned out great. Will make again, I think I will try 2 rounds so I can make a layer cake. Made for My-3-Chefs November 2009.
