ingredients
- 1 (24 ounce) package white almond bark
- 3⁄4 cup sweetened condensed milk
- 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1⁄2 cup dried cranberries
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 cup slivered almonds
directions
- Spread your almond slivers in one layer on an ungreased cookie sheet and toast in a 350 degree oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until light golden brown, stirring once or twice. (You may also toast them in a heavy, ungreased skillet on the stove top).
- While almonds are toasting, line a 9x13 pan with tin foil. Foil needs to come to edges so it can be lifted out.
- Place your almond bark, vanilla, and condensed milk in a large microwaveable bowl and cook on high 2 minutes, stir, then microwave another minute or until melted.
- Fold nuts, cranberries, and orange zest into melted mixture, then pour into your foil lined baking dish.
- Spread mixture evenly to edges with a spatula.
- Refridgerate 2 hours or until firm.
- Lift out of pan using edges of foil and turn onto cutting board.
- Cut into 24 or 48 pieces.
- Store in the refridgerator in an air tight container up to 3 weeks.

Some days I just love to cook. Others ... not so much. On the days I love to cook I find myself humming and talking to my dogs(with an accent. Whichever accent is appropriate to the region of food I happen to be cooking) explaining to them exactly what it is I'm doing. Okay, I admit that sometimes they look a little embarassed for me, but for the most part they think I'm funny. (I can tell by the way they wag their tails and wiggle their bums) On those "ho-hum" days when I "HAVE to" cook I hop on the Internet and find lovely folks like you to cheer me up with a tried and true recipe.
