  1. I couldn't find the almond flavouring(is this extract? or something else?) so I used amaretto. Granted that changes the recipe - I still really like it. This is a wonderful winter / crisp fall recipe. Plus it has the benefit of making my apartment smell like my aunt's kitchen(right after she baked pumpkin pie). Making this again I would probably wouldn't use ground cloves and ground cinnamon. I used fresh ground and found both to be a little too strong for my taste. I would suggest making this with whole cloves and cinnamon sticks - and then strain them before drinking. I'll try it again that way and see if it changes my review.

HI my name is Melanie and I currently reside in Carnation, WA. After people learn this the usual question is "where in Carnation is that?" haha very funny! I am attending college right now working very hard to be accepted into an RN program. Competition is fierce but I am holding my own. I am an avid reader.. I always have a book with me. I love to crotchet and I am crazy enough to enjoy counted cross stitch. I am also known to frequent kareoke bars and stink up the joint with my tunes. In the last few years I have really gotten into cooking and baking. I have only had a few disasters so I guess that's pretty good!
