Directions

  1. Mix flour, sugar, and salt together.
  2. Add the dry ingredients to the scalded milk--add all slowly/stirring.
  3. Heat over a double boiler until thick and smooth. **about 15 minutes**.
  4. Add butter.
  5. Pour mixture over the egg yolks, stirring constantly.
  6. Cool and add vanilla.
