Two Sugar Cookies

"A little cookie that is sweet and simple. Uses both white and brown sugars."

• Yields: 4 dozen

ingredients

• 1 cup shortening
• 1 cup white sugar
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 3 eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1⁄8 teaspoon salt
• 3 1⁄2 cups flour
• 2 teaspoons baking soda
• 2 teaspoons cream of tartar

directions

1. Cream together shortening and sugars. Add the eggs and mix well. Also add the vanilla.
2. Gradually add the flour mixed with the soda and cream of tartar.
3. Make small tablespoon sized balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
4. Bake at 350°F until brown, about 10 minutes.
