- 236.59 ml chopped dates
- 177.44 ml boiling water
- 4.92 ml baking soda
- 29.58 ml butter or 29.58 ml margarine
- 78.78 ml sugar
- 295.73 ml flour
- 78.78 ml chopped nuts (I use walnuts)
- 0.25 ml salt
- 4.92 ml baking powder

Syrup
- 236.59 ml sugar
- 177.44 ml water
- 59.14 ml brandy
- 14.79 ml butter
- 4.92 ml vanilla essence
directions
- Cream sugar and butter well.
- Mix dates with boiling water.
- Sift dry ingredients together.
- Stir all 3 mixes as well as nuts together until just mixed.
- Bake in medium size baking pan (sprayed) for about 45 minutes at 350.

Syrup:
- Boil sugar and water together over low heat for 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat; add brandy, butter and vanilla and pour over hot tart.
