This was a popular drink among my circle of friends in the mid-1970s or so. I had almost forgot about it until I came across it recently when visiting the Drink Swap website. So I thought I would post the recipe here so I wouldn't ever forget about it again. If mixed correctly, the blackberry brandy will slowly settle down through the orange juice layer, which creates uneven or striated colors that are said to resemble a sunset (hence the drink's name).
- Fill a collins glass with ice cubes. Add tequila and orange juice, and stir well.
- Top with blackberry brandy, and let the brandy slowly settle and fall through the orange juice layer.
- Add a cherry on top, and serve.
I loved this but I forgot to let the brandy settle down and I didnt have a whole lot of it. And Hubby ate the last of the cherries last night before bed. So photo isnt right . But this was nice I will make it again before the Tour finishes just to get a great picture. Plus it tastes great. Made for world tour 8
