Ten Napkins Sticky Chicken

"Indulge yourself with this wonderful chicken dish. I found that adding baking powder to fried or baked chicken is the trick and just threw together the spices one night. It was a great success. It is so tasty and sticky, everyone had a smile on their face eating this one! And we did go through a lot of napkins!"

  1. This was a Godsend! I saw the recipe two days after it was posted, and just happened to have 6 chicken breasts, cut up, sitting in my fridge waiting to be cooked and eaten. I soaked the chicken in a mixture of egg and 7-Up (instead of milk, and it's not as gross as it sounds) and added lots more sesame seeds. Otherwise I followed the recipe exactly. It wasn't really sticky at all, but we loved it, and it's going to become part of my family dinner repetoire.

  2. The flavours in this chicken dish are delicious. Like some of the others it wasnt' 'sticky' but it sure was good. I used slightly less butter and they cooked in 40 minutes.

  3. This chicken was good. I cooked mine for about an hour because it was bone in and partially frozen. Like the other reviewers, it wasn't sticky at all though. I love the way the crust came out so I think I will do the baking powder thing from now on. Also like the other reviewers I didnt have any sesame seeds. I added about 1/2 tsp to 1 tsp of sesame oil to the butter. I worried that I might have put too much because I could smell it. I didnt really taste it when it was done. As a matter of fact, I couldnt really taste much of any seasonings but that is what I am used to, we like a lot of seasoning in this house. I meant to take a picture but started to eat before we remembered. I will make this again (adding more seasonings) and I'll be sure to take a picture. Thanks CLS

  4. I served this tonight to my family and my daughter and her boyfriend tried some and really loved it.I did leave out the sesame seeds(couldn't find any). I will reduce the butter next time, and there will be a next time! Thanks for posting!

  5. So much precaution is taken to infuse flavor into the chicken but I'm not sure any of it survives the half cup of butter poured over it at the end. Unless you're looking for a low-cal. recipe, this is a hard one not to like. I made mine without seseme seeds since I was out and ended up serving the chicken with the Wasabi Cucumber Salad and white rice. Very good.

Hi, I'm a crazy cook in the kitchen :) I love to start with a basic idea and then invent something new everytime I make a meal. I seldom use a cook book now, usually working with my own ingredients and it always comes out a surprise. I frequently use this site and others on the 'net to pick up new ideas and surprise my family and guests. This site is really cool, glad I came upon it.
