A variation on several mango lassi recipes on this site. I combined a couple of things that looked good, and it came out delicious.
- 5 large ripe strawberries, washed and hulled
- 8 ounces plain yogurt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons rose water
- 1⁄4 cup cold water
- 4 ice cubes
- Combine all ingredients in blender canister.
- Blend on high until smooth.
It's just the beginning of strawberrry season here in Israel and I had to jump at the chance to make one of my favorite drinks with a new twist. I used orange watr instead of the rose water, and pro-biotic yogurt. Delicious, thanks!
Tasty!! I used Balkan (thick) yogurt, a bit more crystallized ginger, honey instead of sugar to be more healthy, Iranian rose water (I couldn't taste it) a bit extra spring water & no ice. I'd like to try Mirj's variation with orange blossom water next time!
