Strawberries Jamaica

"Simple but so good! My good friend Angel gave me this recipe. It makes an attractive dessert when mixture is served on top of strawberries in large individual glass stems."

  1. Mmmm! Totally addicting! The name alone makes you want to kick back with this treat. I made just as directed and what I didn't eat during my mixing and testing , I served up in short stemmed glasses. My only change next time would be to make a second recipe using orange juice so my kids could enjoy it too. I was washing up the beater when I turned around to find my toddler dipping a berry! So I quickly gave her plain sour cream so she could dip all she wanted! :) Thanks for sharing, Mama! This was delish! Made & enjoyed for Rhapsody in Rouge! "A French Strawberry Fair in May" in the French Forum. http://www.recipezaar.com/bb/viewtopic.zsp?t=332939&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 UPDATE: Since I still had some of this from last night leftover I used it as a topping for recipe #369159 and recipe #360671. Delicious!

  2. Very good. It was like Grand Marnier cheesecake, without the fuss.

  3. Instead of Grand Marnier I used orange juice. My DH enjoyed this very as a dip with his bowl of strawberries.

  4. I tried this instead of my old standby which is similar, calling for brown sugar and brandy. I have also made it when I did not have cream cheese, and it was just as delicious, but thinnner. I,too, increased the grand marnier. When I make my old standby, I use 1/4 cup of the liquor. Thanks for this great variation!

  5. Delicious dip for luscious, red strawberries. I doubled the amount of Grand Marnier cause I found the flavour didn't really come through enough with 2 tblsps. The dip was still nice and thick and complemented the strawberries beautifully.
