This is a nice sweet and spicy style salsa. You can easily adjust the heat of the salsa by adding or reducing the amount of red pepper you put in. This was on the back of a Wheat Thins box, and it does go really well with them!
- 1 cup plum tomato, chopped
- 11 ounces mandarin orange segments, drained
- 1 cup green pepper, chopped
- 1⁄4 cup red onion, chopped
- 1⁄2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- Combine all ingredients in a medium-size bowl and mix well.
Was gonna make this recipe just as written, but after reading Baby Kato's review, decided to include a bit of chopped mango along with everything else ~ Made for a great flavor combo, & I'll definitely make this one again! Thanks for posting the recipe! [Made & reviewed in Everyday's a Holiday tag]
We really enjoyed this quick and easy to make salsa. It was very fresh tasting with bursts of sweetness and heat. I did double the red pepper flakes for my dh and I also added a little ripe mango, that I didn't want to lose. All the flavors and textures blended beautifully creating a special treat. I served with corn scopes, it was so good. I have placed this recipe in my keeper box, thank you so much for sharing this sweet & spicy treat.
Made this for our pub menu to go with some salmon and it was very popular and delicious, next day I did add some lime juice and fresh coriander to zip it up a wee bit. Thanks for a lovely recipe
