- 1 cup lundberg brown basmati rice (or your favorite brand)
- 2 cups water, as required by package directions (or vegetable or chicken broth)
- 1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
- 1⁄4 cup julienne carrot
- 1⁄4 cup diced celery
- 1⁄4 cup diced red bell pepper
- 1 teaspoon season salt (I use Sea Salt Seasoning, #282645)
- 1⁄2 teaspoon dried jalapeno pepper
- 1⁄2 teaspoon cumin
directions
- In a medium saucepan, bring water or broth to boil over high heat.
- Meanwhile, place rice in a fine strainer or colander and rinse well; drain.
- Add all ingredients to saucepan, including the rice, and prepare per the package directions.
