  1. not my cup of tea at all, which surprised me as I love all the ingredients separately. So it wasn't a total toss out I doctored it to our tastes by adding a bit of sugar and balsamic and a generous sprinkling of ground peanuts.

  2. A nice side. Made as written using cooking spray in place of butter. DH loved that it was spice with out being too spicy. Thanks for the post.

  3. The kids gobbled this up! My six year old informed me "this isn't as spicy as the recipe says mom". I thought it had the perfect amount of bite and flavor. Thanks Mandy!

  4. This dish is really yummy! The kitchen was filled with delicious Indian-cuisine-style scents. It goes wonderfully with chicken and rice! Thank you for a great and unusual recipe.

  5. I absolutely loved this recipe!! I used a 12-oz bag of bean sprouts. I didn't use any butter -- at first I sprayed my pan with Pam but then it started to burn so I just added water and kept adding more boiling water as needed!! I also used ground ginger, a small onion, and mustard powder instead of tumeric since I didn't have any... same for the minced chile, I used chili powder. My amounts were all off because my measurements weren't taking into account the fact that I didn't have 500 g of sprouts, but it was wonderful nonetheless. I would DEFINITELY repeat this recipe. Thanks for posting!!

Melbourne I live on a 5 acre property in the Dandenong Ranges Victoria, Australia, having moved from the burbs when I became pregnant with my now 15 year old daughter Alyssa. Once my daughter was born I became a stay at home mum as I couldn't bear the thought of putting her in daycare. She is the light of my life, I never imagined myself as a mum when younger but now wouldn't have it any other way. Alyssa was made a big sister on the 19th April 2010 when our cheeky little boy Blake was born. I love cooking and experimenting with new recipes so quickly become addicted to Zaar as it was previously known & still use it regularly. In addition to being my kids taxi  I also spend my time, reading, gardening and of course shopping. I'm lucky enough that we have the space & so love growing our own fruits, vegies & herbs, this also means we have plenty of room for animals & at the moment have 2 dogs, Max, a Jackshund who's 6, Fletcher, a Kelpie who's 4, 6 cats Snowpea, Fergus, Ginger, Tango, Annie & Cookie, 4 chooks & 2 Ducks. As well as our pets, we also have a lot of native animals around our area, we have kangaroos, wombats, echidna's, possums as well as rosella's, galah's & Cockatoo's hence the name of where I live..
