  1. I actually messed this up, but discovered that it's still a wonderful treat nonetheless! I was trying to do too many things at once while I was waiting for the sugar mixture to boil, and I missed the start of the boil (I know, I know, the most important part of a silly-simple recipe and I screw it up  ) Since I had no clue how long it had been boiling for when I caught it, I (for some unknown reason, lol) thought that it must need to be at soft ball stage. I dug up my candy thermometer and watched it until it reached that stage, and then mixed in the crushed crackers. As soon as I added the crackers, everything turned into this sweet peanut-buttery crumble that is totally wonderful on top of ice cream. It's probably great on top of cupcakes or muffins as well, I'm guessing. I know that it isn't the intended outcome of the recipe, but I loved the mistake so much that I was perfectly happy to use it as-is and let you know how good it was. I will try to make it correctly at some point, but for now, I have way too many sweets in the house, so I'm sticking with my new ice cream topping, lol. Thanks for posting! Made for PAC Spring 2013
