This traditional german recipe came from my grandmother's recipe box.
- 4 ounces dark chocolate
- 3 tablespoons butter (not margarine)
- 2 1⁄4 cups powdered sugar
- 1⁄2 cup half-and-half
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Melt chocolate and butter over low heat stirring constantly.
- When melted, remove from heat and stir in remaining ingredients.
- Beat with mixer until of spreading consistency.
