Scalloped Beef & Macaroni Dinner

"This is similar to American Goulash, but it is not exactly the same as other recipes I have seen posted. We had this in Canada in the 50's and 60's as well for an easy to prepare dinner!"

• Serves: 6-8

ingredients

• 2 cups macaroni
• 1 medium onion, chopped
• 1 stalk celery, sliced
• 1 lb ground beef
• 2 tablespoons flour
• 1 (28 ounce) can tomatoes
• 1⁄2 cup cheese, grated
• 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
• 1 garlic clove
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon dry mustard
• 1⁄2 teaspoon celery salt
• 1⁄8 teaspoon pepper

directions

1. Cook macaroni. Saute onions, celery & garlic in vegetable oil. Add beef & brown.
2. Stir in flour & seasonings. Add tomatoes. Bring to a boil. Add macaroni.
3. Put into a 2 qt (2.5L) baking dish. Sprinkle with cheese.
4. Bake at 350F (180C) about 30 minutes.
