Salty Chihuahua

"Modified from EatingWell.com. This is a Mexican-inspired take on the Salty Dog (usually made with grapefruit juice, vodka or gin, and salt)."

ingredients

• coarse salt (optional)
• 4 ounces tequila (divided)
• 2 ounces orange-flavored liqueur (such as Cointreau, divided)
• 3 cups ruby red grapefruit juice (divided)
• 1⁄4 ruby red grapefruit (cut into 4 slices, for garnish)

directions

1. Wet the rims of 4 glasses and coat with coarse salt (if desired).
2. Fill the glasses with ice.
3. Pour 1 ounce tequila and 1/2 ounce orange-flavored liqueur into each.
4. Top each with 3/4 cup grapefruit juice and stir.
5. Garnish with a slice of grapefruit.
