A deceptively simple yet very moorish take on fruit for desert- the plums cook down to make a syrupy sauce with a hint of spice. I got this recipe from the website www.amazingtables.com which has good free recipes on it. Enjoy!
Halve and stone the Plums. Place them cut side down in an ovenproof dish so that they fit fairly snuggly. Pour over enough Orange Juice to come half way up the plums in the dish. Sprinkle over the cloves, Cinnamon and a generous grating of fresh Nutmeg. Bake at 180 for 20 minutes until the Plums are tender, and serve with some of the syrupy cooking juices spooned over the top. In winter serve hot with fresh cream, in summer serve cold with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
You are so right this is so simple and yet so so nice, I made half the amount and served it with my vanilla diabetic ice cream. I love that it has no sugar or sweeteners in it as the tartness of the plums with the ice cream makes it to die for. It was still very warm when I served it and the ice cream was just melting so so nice this is pure comfort food at it's simplest thank you for posting Made for healthy choices ABC tag game. 2011
