Rick's Crock Pot Smothered Steak

"This is really basic, but turns out well every time. I'm sure all of the readers can add their own touches to make it their own. I think the Franco American brand gravies are now Campbell's."

 1. My husband and I enjoyed this recipe. I cooked it on HIGH for 5 hours it was perfectly tender and delicious. I left out the mushrooms as we don't care for them. Thank you.

 2. This was very good, but for some reason the meat was a little too chewy, which I'm not sure why cuz it marinated for 8 hours in that wonderful sauce. Other than that this was very good.

 3. I didn't have the beef gravy on hand and instead added a can of beef broth whisked with some flour and omitted the extra water. This was a flavorful and simple main dish served with baked potatoes and salad on a very busy night.

 4. This was pretty good. We had it with mashed potatoes. Nice comfort food for fall and winter. Easy to make.

 5. Very good and easy-to-make crockpot supper which we had over rice. I forgot the jar of mushrooms but won't next time. Thanks for sharing!

I started cooking when I was about 12 years old. I was a fan of Graham Kerr's Galloping Gourmet and my mother helped me buy the ingredients and cook Steak Diane after I saw it on his show.

I can't cook for the family every night, but I try try to have one or two nights a week when I can fix them a home meal. Sunday is the day when my wife, 3 kids, 1 daughter-in-law, and 2 grand daughters get together to have a big dinner.

My picture is me holding my babies. Being a grandfather is really great. They call me Papa by the way.
