This luscious sauce is great on ice cream and custards. Yield and servings are approximate. Found online and slightly modified. Posted for ZWT6, Scandinavia.

Ingredients Nutrition


  1. Place wine and cherry juice in a saucepan.Heat to a boiling point. Meanwhile, mix cornstarch and water until smooth.
  2. Add to the boiling mixture, whisking constantly. Boil for a minute or two.
  3. Remove from heat and add cognac. Add almonds, if desired.
  4. Serve warm or cool.
