Red Vanilla Chai Tea

"This is a variation on a more traditional chai tea since it uses rooibos instead. Please note that food.com forces me to use the term "rooibos tea bags", which sounds a bit awkward, but I used loose-leaf rooibos."

  1. I'm in heaven!! From the first sip I was on cloud nine :). I used vanilla extract as I had some difficulty finding vanilla beans around here and just added 1/2 tsp directly to my cup with a teaspoon of honey instead of sugar as is my preference for tea. I've loved rooibos tea for years, and these spices add to the enjoyment of it 10 fold. I've since started making a large batch of it, simmering the water & spices for several hours. I heat my milk in a measuring cup separately, froth it with a mini-frother, add honey, vanilla & tea half full in a mug (straining tea with a small strainer), then milk & froth. It's now my go-to drink when I'm feeling stressed in the day. Thanks so much for posting this divine tea recipe Feelah ! Made over and over and thoroughly enjoyed for PAC Spring 2011 :)
