This recipe was in a box of loose recipes I'd cut out of magazines and newspapers. I'm posting it here so it won't get lost. UPDATE: I made these and they are delicious. I wasn't sure how pumpkin and applesauce would taste together. The predominate flavor to me was the molasses. I used all white flour and butter. The texture is more like a cake than a square. I did cream the butter, sugar, molasses, brown sugar, applesauce, eggs and pumpkin before adding the dry ingredients.
- In a mixing bowl combine all of ingredients till well blended, then beat 3 minutes more.
- Spoon into a greased 15"X10" jelly roll pan.
- Bake in 350° oven for 30-35 minutes.
- Cool pan in wire rack.
- Cut into 2 1/2 inch squares.
- Makes about 2 dozen.
