Pickle Sauce (Michael Smith)

"This recipe is supposed to go with Recipe #409356. You can put this together while your salmon is cooking It's easy and yummy and kids usually like it! It's a fresher and better version of tartar sauce. Enjoy!"

  1. I used the food processor which made this delicious sauce very easy and quick to make. I agree with the name of the recipe - pickle sauce - it's definitely not a tartar sauce. The sour pickle flavor really comes through and the mustard compliments it very well. I served it with salmon patties and really enjoyed it. Made for Susie's World Tour 2018.

  2. Fresh and flavorful! I had jarred dill spears, not pickles, so used six which seemed to be the right amount. If you want a thicker sauce like tartar you could use less lemon juice or dry the pickles.

  3. Ten stars, if I could! I'll preface by saying that I HATE tartar sauce - and this is anything but! I followed the recipe exactly, no tweaks at all. I used Mt. Olives kosher pickle slices (chopped) and Zatarain's Creole mustard. This was outstanding over pan-seared wild caught salmon! In the future, when I make this again, I'll mince the pickles so they're a bit smaller than I cut them this time. So good you can eat this with a spoon! Made for SWT 2018, Team Incredibles.

  4. I would have called this mustard sauce, because the mustard really makes the flavor. But no matter what it's called, it's delicious! I didn't make the salmon because of an allergy, but this is good on any kind of fish. Thanks for posting!

I love great food and I particularly like trying cuisines new to me! Although I don't prepare as much food as I used to, creating in my kitchen is still one of my favourite things to do. Enjoy!
