Parmesan Onion Bake

A great side dish to serve with roast, chicken, pork or fish.

This is so good! I halved the recipe, but wished I hadn't. Delicious!!!Thanks! I left out the pecans and used just a little more Parmesan, grated fresh.

  1. In a large skillet, saute onions and celery in 3 tablespoons butter until tender; drain and set aside.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the remaining butter, stir in flour, salt and pepper until smooth.
  3. Gradually stir in milk.
  4. Bring to a boil, cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
  5. Pour over vegetables; toss to coat.
  6. Pour into an ungreased 2 quart baking dish Sprinkle with cheese and pecans.
  7. Bake, uncovered at 350°F for 20-25 minutes, or until heated through.
