  1. I made this recipe as it but used half the salt amount. It was delicious! I used it in my pasta salad along with a vinaigrette and it was a hit at our get-together. I think this seasoning can be used on roasted vegetables, garlic bread and a host of other dishes. Very good and highly recommended.

  2. 5 stars because this tastes just like Papa John's seasoning packets. However, the packets are free, so the reason I was in search of the recipe was to cut way back in the salt, which I did after making it as directed first.

  3. This is not papa johns seasoning. So I'm going to use it on pulled pork

  4. This can't possibly be the same recipe as the Papa John's Special Seasoning packets. I get them all the time--my local Papa John's usually gives me a handful of them with each order because I love to sprinkle it on my vegetables--and this is NOT it. It's NOT red--why so much paprika and cayenne pepper?? I'm glad I read the other reviews here and cut the salt and cayenne in half, but it was still too spicy for me. Nothing like the original. I'm not sure why this is the standard recipe floating around the Internet. Just like the copycat Papa John's Garlic Sauce recipe--totally NOT the same.

  5. The pizza easoning is overwhelmed by salt and hot spices. You are better off severely limiting the salt and hot spice with something else in your spice pantry.
