Directions

  1. Boil sugar,salt and corn syrup to 245 degrees.
  2. Stir occasionally.
  3. Add butter and evaporated milk so gradually that the mixture does not stop boiling.
  4. STIR CONSTANTLY!
  5. Cook rapidly to 240 degrees, being careful not to scorch.
  6. Add vanilla and nuts.
  7. Pour into greased pan.
  8. Cool before cutting.
  9. Cut with heavy,sharp knife with saw-life motion.

I'm new to candy making and can't guess ... what size pan? 8x8 or 9x13?

Easy to make, great texture and flavor. Make sure you use a really big pan, cuz it likes to boil high. Don't be afraid to use regular milk for that last 1/2 cup so that you don't have to open a second can. I am now the hero of my daughter's halloween party coming up.
