Delicious peanut butter candy. I did not have crunchy peanut butter so I added some finely chopped peanuts to smooth peanut butter. Since I buy my baking ingredients at the bulk food store, I converted one pound of powdered sugar to about 3-1/2 to 4 cups. The 1/2 lb. butter equals 1 cup or 2 sticks butter. Also used regular icing sugar but you could make your own powdered sugar using this formula: For the powdered sugar: 1 cup granulated sugar + 1 Tablespoon cornstarch = 1 cup powdered sugar; whiz until very fine in a blender. (Powdered sugar is granulated sugar that has been crushed into a fine powder with about 3% cornstarch added to prevent clumping.) Made this candy for a gift; purchased tiny candy cups at the Dollar Store, placed piece of candy in each cup, placed candy on a paper-doily-lined pretty plate from second hand store (or use a paper plate), wrapped the plate in clear plastic wrap and added a pretty ribbon bow on top. Recipient was delighted. You could also buy a pretty box at the Dollar Store, line it with a paper doily, layer candy with wax paper between layers. Add a bow to match colors on the box. Will definitely make again for holidays and special occasions throughout the year.
