My grandmother used to make this a lot in lieu of the real deal--and she was in great shape in her heyday.

Directions

  1. Steam green beans for 12 minutes; boil eggs.
  2. Sauté onions in oil until lightly browned, 30 minutes.
  3. Pour all into food processor and pulse until thickened and pâté consistency (or chop manually until it resembles pâté).
  4. Form and chill.

We served this at a gathering and it got mixed reviews. I personally liked it, it had a different taste. I will make again at large gatherings.
