From the Elysian Grove Bed and Breakfast Inn, Tucson, Arizona.
- Snap beans in half and rinse (cut off ends).
- Fry together the garlic, onion, and bacon.
- When golden brown, pour away some of bacon grease (or freeze the grease for making dog biscuits!).
- Pour fried onion, garlic, and bacon (plus some grease) into large pot.
- Add snapped green beans.
- Cover with water and simmer until tender.
