So delicious!! I made these for a bridal tea. Very moist cookie with a smooth maple flavor. I used vanilla chips which added great taste and texture. The creamy frosty added extra sweetness. They looked beautiful and were enjoyed by me and my guests. Thanks Nurse Di.

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream shortening, butter and brown sugar.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
  3. Beat in vanilla and maple flavoring.
  4. Combing the flour and baking soda; gradually add to creamed mixture.
  5. Stir in vanilla chips and pecans.
  6. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls 2-inches apart onto ungreased baking sheets.
  7. Bake at 350° for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Cool for 2 minutes before removing to wire racks.
  9. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and powdered sugar.
  10. Beat in maple flavoring and enough milk to achieve a spreadable consistency.
  11. Frost cooled cookies.
  12. Top each with a pecan half.
