Jessica's Famous Brownies

I looked and looked for the perfect brownie recipe, and finally found one that everyone likes so well, I have made it my own. This was inspired from a recipe on cooks.com.

• Prep Time: 5 mins
• Cook Time: 35 mins

Ingredients:

Serves: 6

Yield: 12.0 brownies

• 6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
• 2 tablespoons shortening (or vegetable oil)
• ½ cup butter
• 1 cup sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• ½ cup self-rising flour
• ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (milk chocolate chips work well, as does a mixture of both semi-sweet and milk chocolate)

Directions:

1. Place cocoa, shortening and butter in microwavable bowl and heat until melted, about 30 seconds.
2. Stir in sugar. Add eggs and beat well.
3. Blend in vanilla and flour.
4. Pour into greased 8" square pan. Top with chocolate chips.
5. Bake at 325° for 35 minutes or until set.
