These were delicious and reminded me of macaroons flavored with lime. I doubled the recipe for a 9x13 pan, using the zest and juice of 3 largish limes, 1-7 oz package of coconut, 2 cans of sweetened condensed milk andd 1-12 oz. box of vanilla wafer crumbs. I'm posting these amounts just to avoid measuring anything. I still baked it for about 25 minutes in a dark metal pan.

I made these last night and, though it was a simple recipe, working with it to put it in the pan was very difficult. The ingredients together formed a very thick and sticky glob. Once cooked, the brownie is very dense. I topped it with a Key Lime drizzle with just a little coconut for a gathering tonight. I'll see what the consensus is at that time. Taste was good, not great.

We esp like all things "Key lime" & the pic by GaylaJ on your recipe is like an "eye candy review magnet". I could hardly wait to make it & had a bit of a fun adventure making Vanilla Wafers to get the job done. Would I do it again? You betcha! I agree w/Gayla that the outcome is more like a bar than a brownie or anything else I can think of that's rich, chewy & loaded w/flavour. It's amazing that such an ingredient-friendly (for most people, unlike myself) & simple-to-prepare recipe accomplishes so much. I made mine in a 9" rd pie-plate & I suggest cutting is sml portions. 2nds are always an option, but 1 sml portion of this rich bar will satisfy even the most ravenous. Thx for sharing this great lime recipe w/us. :-)
