ingredients
- 354.88 ml yellow cornmeal
- 118.29 ml all-purpose flour
- 4.92 ml baking powder
- 177.44 ml whole milk
- 1 white onions (Minced) or 1 yellow onion (Minced)
- 14.79 ml fresh cilantro (Chopped Fine)
- 2 garlic cloves (Minced)
- 0.25 ml ground black pepper
- 0.25 ml table salt
- 1 egg (Beaten)
directions
- Whisk together dry components first, then add the remaining ingredients, and mix thoroughly.
- Heat frying oil to 360°F.
- Scoop "Tablespoon" sized portions into the hot oil.
- Cook until golden brown or 2 1/2 minutes (be careful NOT to overcook, hushpuppies become really hard).
- Remove from the hot oil and drain on paper towel and/or brown paper bag.
- I did this recipe multiplied by 5!
