Not a hard thing to do but makes for the best sweet tea. Will keep for several days in the fridge. Give it a try!

A great way to make sweetened iced tea! For people who like different levels of sweetness, this is so much better than stirring in sugar which never fully dissolves. I made 1/4 recipe. Lemon is a nice addition, using the slices in the syrup and straining makes for no seeds. Thanks, ricky, for a great idea!

Ingredients Nutrition


  1. Bring water and sugar slowly to a boil in a non-reactive pot.
  2. When the sugar is disolved add the sliced lemons (or 12 T lemon juice) and mint.
  3. Remove from heat, cool 10 minutes and strain.
  4. You can try freezing in a tray, but they won't get real hard.
