directions

  • Whisk together all non-vegetable ingredients.
  • Toss with cabbage/carrot mix.
  • This recipe makes adequate dressing to cover the cabbage, but it is on the dry side. If you like a very wet coleslaw double the dressing.

  1. I think this is better than KFC's version. I use regular sugar, no splenda. ( I don't like artificial sweetners) This is the only way I make coleslaw. I'ved made it several times, once I was out of buttermilk and had to substiture the milk with vinegar/lemon juice stuff. That doesn't really work in this recipe.

  2. I appreciate very much the nutritionals on this one, but I thought it was only so-so. I am usually ok with the splenda aftertaste, but I found it very intense in this coleslaw. This one is ok, just nothing that I loved and would make again. I'm always looking to try healthy recipes, though, so thanks for posting it!

My rating system: 5 stars: Everyone loved it, no exceptions. A recipe that is unique and impressive, that I would serve at a dinner party with no substitutions. 4 stars: Everyone loved it, no exceptions. A solid recipe that is not really unique or impressive, but one that I will make often with little, if any substitution. 3 stars: Some people liked it, some didn't. A solid base recipe that I will make again, but I will probably experiment a little to see if I can improve it. 2 stars: OK, but nobody really liked it-people nibbled at it and the leftovers went uneaten. 1 star: This dish was thrown away uneaten, and it's not worth trying to "fix".
