ingredients

• 1⁄2 cup shortening
• 1⁄4 cup sugar
• 1 egg
• 2 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon ginger
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
• 1 1⁄2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1⁄4 teaspoon baking soda
• 3⁄4 cup milk
• 1⁄2 cup cocoa
• 3⁄4 cup molasses

directions

1. cream shortening and sugar.
2. add eggs.
3. add molasses
4. sift dry ingredients
5. add to creamed mixture alternately with milk.
6. mix until smooth
7. drop by teaspoon onto greased baking sheets bake 350 degrees no time given 10 minutes molasses burns check
8. or add nuts and raisins.
9. you can make peanut butter just decrease shortening to 1/4 add 1/2 c peanut butter.
