Grandma Helen's Cinnamon Apples

"My grandmother made these for us every year during the holidays when we would visit her in Illinois. All of the grandkids loved them. I'm happy to share the recipe with my Zaar cooking buddies. Remember to look for the candies in February and save them for the whole year!!"

  • Mix water and sugar in a 5 quart Dutch Oven and bring to a boil over medium high heat. Add the candies and stir until dissolved. When dissolved, reduce the heat and add the apples in a single layer, turning them often and gently. Cook for about 15 minutes or until tender. Serve warm or cold but enjoy them!
