I forgot to rate this recipe so this review is to add the stars. I have made this 2 days in a row it was so very nice. I used packet vanilla sugar (quite a bit, like 1 tablespoon) on top and sprinkled with cinnamon, my husband , a man of few words, who usually says everything is "Good' when I ask how it was, emphatically said this was "Delicious!!!"

Now this is what I call a torte!! This is super easy and a great blend of flavors - not too sweet as well. I used homemade canned plums ("recipe#159335")which held up quite nicely. I took the syrup from the canned plums, added some corn starch thickening it up to use as a syrup to drizzle on top. The only change I will make to this is to pack in as many plums as I can. Thanks for a great addition to my recipe book.

I am a Christian wife and mother of 3 kids. Since my DH's high cholesterol, we've been eating better. I never used to like cooking. Since eating better, I've liked learning and preparing new recipes. My kids haven't reconciled themselves to the new eating yet. I grind my own grain and make all my own breads.?Working 2 hours a day in the local high school lunch room.??I am homeschooling my high schooler.? ?Also found out 1 child has multiple food allergies (wheat, dairy, tomato, chocolate, etc) and another is gluten sensitive. So, we just started (July 09) eating gluten and dairy free. I've been busy with getting our house market ready, even though it's not the best time for that.?
