Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

"I used to use Krustease Buttermilk pancake mix for many years, always wih success.I don't know why I even tried this recipe, but I'm so glad I did! I hope you will try it and enjoy it too. If you have a small or medium ice cream scoop, it's great to scoop up the batter and pour it onto the griddle! Feel free to add your favorite fruits, chocolate chips, even trail mix into the batter.Whenever I make pancakes, I always prepare the batter the night before, it just seems to make them better. I always throw away the first one, maybe two pancakes, until the grill gets just right.Source: KVVU"

  1. Nice texture but for my family it was TOO much baking soda. I literally got sick from the taste. Not sure why UPDATE---- Baking POWDER not SODA. I am such a DITZ

  2. Thank you for posting this recipe. I also found this on Allrecipe and it makes the best pancakes I've ever eaten. It goes in my breakfast cookbook. UPDATE; Just made this morning, got a phone call and I think letting them set 10 min really made the batter thicker and fluffier

  3. They were a bit hard to spread because they were too thick. So next time I'll add more milk or use less baking powder. The taste was great. But DH didn't like the texture. Thanks Fluffster :) Made for All you can cook buffet

  4. I was craving some pancakes for breakfast and I decided to try this recipe. I added some vanilla to the mix but changed nothing else. These made some wonderful fluffy and filling pancakes. I brushed on some melted butter onto mine and sprinkled with cinnamon-sugar. It was so delicious with my hot chocolate. Great basic pancake recipe.

  5. These pancakes come out nice and sweet and fluffy. My family loves pancakes so these were a big hit in my home. They are great even if you want to add some blueberries. This is my go to pancake recipe!

I would like to welcome you to my recipes. I have been with Food.com since 10/05. My beloved husband, Tom, passed away 3 years ago. My world stopped. It's taken me all this time to find my way back to life without him. I have been so blessed to have found my second, once in a lifetime. I've met an amazing man who is so good to me. We moved from Las Vegas, Nevada to Bullhead City, Az. in February, and we love it here. I have worked at Bally's and Paris hotel.casinos, in Las Vegas. I have seen some very famous entertainers, including Liza Minnelli, Penn and Teller, Ray Liotta, Dr. J (Julius Erving), Frank Sinatra and his wife Barbara Marx. and many, many more. Cooking is my passion, and I am slowly, but surely beginning to venture into the world of baking. To me, cooking is so much easier because baking is so much more exact. I love to make Italian and Mexican food the best, followed by Chinese and last, but by far the least, good old American food! How can you beat chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy?? I love to find several recipes and put my own spin on them and create a new recipe.
