  • Sift together flour, baking powder, ginger, soda, salt and sugar.
  • Add molasses.
  • Beat egg, add milk, and add to first mixture.
  • Add melted shortening.
  • Pour into greased muffin pans.
  • Top with topping mixture and bake in hot oven (400) for 25 minutes.
